PROJECTS FOR THE WEEK

  • French Quarter Road Repaving   (benefit = ~10 years)
    • Chartres Street – milling operations and paving began in 100 – 600 blocks
    • Peter Street – milling operations and paving in 600 block
    • Conti Street – milling operations in 500 – 600 and 900 – 1100 blocks; paving wearing on 500 – 600
    • Louis Street – milling operations on 1100 block
    • Clinton Street – milling, patching, and paving wearing operations on 200 block
  • CBD Road Repaving   (benefit = ~10 years)
    • Old Poydras Street – concrete operations between S. Broad to S. Galvez
    • Howard Avenue – milling and paving operations between Loyola Ave and O’Keefe
    • Broad Avenue – concrete operations between Howard Ave. to Euphrosine St
    • Union Street – concrete and milling operations
    • Perdido Street – repairs complete between S. Claiborne to S. Galvez
      • Street reopening end of day Friday Dec. 20
    • S Prieur Street – road repave, sidewalk continues between Poydras to Perdido
  • Hotel Collapse Site Sidewalk/Road/Utility Repair (benefit = ~10 years)
    • Rampart – street restoration underway, one lane is open to traffic
    • Iberville – roadway restoration ongoing
    • Canal – crews are pouring the curb and gutter
    • Burgundy – street restoration continues
  • Sidewalk Repair   (benefit = ~10 years)
    • Concrete sidewalk crews repairing S Rampart Street in CBD
    • Specialty sidewalk crews finishing S Peters Street in CBD
    • Concrete sidewalk crews repairing 400 block of Gov Nichols
    • Specialty sidewalk crews focused on Jackson Square before caroling
  • Lighting Repairs
    • Public right-of-way light repairs continue around Jackson Square before caroling
  • New Bourbon St Bollards (benefit = traffic management safety in FQ for 10+ years)
    • Bourbon St at Conti St – work continuing
    • Bourbon St at Orleans St – work continuing
  • Downman Rd Repaving (benefit = ~10 years for New Orleans East residents)
    • Paving substantially complete
    • Sidewalk repairs are ongoing, including on Lincoln Beach Blvd & Providence Pl.
  • S Claiborne Water Main Line Repair
    • Water line tie-ins occurring this week
    • Roadway repaving and sidewalk rehabilitation will follow
    • Expected completion date set for mid-January
  • HEAL Garage Mural (benefit = ~10 years)
    • BMIKE completing this week mural on Duncan Plaza-facing wall of HEAL Garage

    • St. Charles Avenue – roadway resurfacing between Poydras St and Canal St
    • Carondelet Street – roadway resurfacing between Poydras St and Canal St
  • S Claiborne Water Main Line Repair
    • All work expected to be completed by January 15
  • Sidewalk Repairs
    • Specialty sidewalk crews moving to Canal Street at St. Charles Ave after S Peters
    • Crews will reset granite curbs at Hard Rock Collapse site after pouring concrete
  • Lighting Repairs
    • French Quarter lighting repairs continuing
    • I-10 lighting between Perdido St and Howard Ave
    • Canal St light pole basis being delivered in coming weeks
  • Project French Doors
    • Rehabilitating first 100 blocks of Dauphine, Bourbon, Royal, Chartres, Decatur Street Murals
    • Mural on Dauphine Street
    • Lighting repairs (private and public)
  • French Quarter Street Sign Installation
  • Girod Overpass Mural

  • Poydras Street – new paving and striping from S. Galvez to Convention Center Blvd.
  • Julia Street – new paving and striping from Loyola to Convention Center Blvd.
  • Girod Street – new paving and striping from Loyola to S. Liberty
  • Union Passenger Terminal – new paving and striping, refreshed landscaping
  • Superdome Campus – new paving and striping, utility repairs
  • French Quarter Sidewalk – repairing Royal St sidewalks (Pere Antoine to Pirates Alley)
  • CBD Sidewalks – Magazine St, Tchoupitoulas St, Peters St, Camp St (all Canal to Poydras)
  • BMIKE Eternal Seeds Mural – located on Hyatt New Orleans wall on Girod St
